As a family doctor, I have worked in the same area for 16 years. I have looked after some of my patients and their families, for all of those same 16 years.
I first developed an appreciation of the problems faced by patients with chronic fatigue, from some of my loyal long-term patients. They would come back, time after time, to tell me that they did not feel quite well. Often they would tell me that they were quite tired. My approach to these problems was very traditional. Diagnose and treat common and well-known medical problems first. Nutritional and hormonal therapies were mainstays of my patients' treatments.
One of the things that struck me the most over many years, was that some patients would become a bit better and the occasional patient would become a lot better, often with the same type and extent of treatment.
Eventually, one persistent patient kept asking me repeatedly, to help her become better. I eventually treated her condition successfully. Unbeknownst to me at the time, this was my first case of Paill Spectrum.
Subsequently, I have found more patients, one by one, (or my patients have found me), using my criteria for this new illness. My criteria for diagnosing this illness, were very basic at first. With time and experience, I recognised more symptoms and became aware that this condition was actually very common. As I treated people, I was surprised to find a case that had developed symptoms that seemed to come from an infection of the brain. At this time, I realised that Paill Spectrum could affect nerves anywhere inside the body. In my continuing work to help my patients become well, I have developed the Paill Spectrum Syndrome model and defined how to treat Paill Spectrum, through my own personal experiences with patients.
I have summarised all these facts and the story of Paill Spectrum on the two CDs:
