The symptoms generally fade quickly once you are up and become active, moving your hands.

The doctor says maybe you have carpal tunnel syndrome, but the tests for this condition show minimal to no slowing of nerve conduction. i.e. There is no diagnosis. The doctor at last tells you, "No, you do not have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome". Unfortunately, then no answer follows. Maybe its just arthritis. You have to learn not to sleep on your hands. Maybe you are doing too much activity. In any case, it must be all your own fault.

Self Diagnosis Tests for Paill Spectrum Hand Syndrome

A simple diagnostic test or treatment is to wear gloves to bed at night. Paill Spectrum affected patients will often find that their hands feel significantly better when they have been kept warmer for a prolonged period of time. Suggested Treatments for Sore thick Hands Includes:

• Always start with basic Paill Spectrum treatment: a good broad spectrum Multivitamin delivering RDI (recommended daily intake) levels of vitamins. Use daily, long-term and regularly.
• Assess if you have low grade wheat allergy symptoms or a partially positive blood test: (non-Celiac). If you do, reduce your wheat intake to the level required for control of your wheat symptoms.

• Wear gloves at night or generally keep the hands warmer at night
• Heat to the body and hands is useful. The heat needs to be “safe: i.e. 40-45 degrees Celsius to be useful. Avoid “hot” heat therapy as Dr. Xxxxx finds this is unnecessary. In Dr. Xxxxx's practice, almost invariably someone ends up burning themself.

• Ultrasound @ 3.0 Watts, 99% for 5-6 minutes over the distal median nerve as well as the proximal palms. This gives some relief immediately and good almost instant relief, obvious by the next morning. This treatment often only needs to be done several times a week for up to several weeks to give good long-term symptomatic relief. (Note, Dr. Andrew Xxxxx states that this treatment is often ineffective long-term in heavy manual workers). Ultrasound is useful for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, but it is also useful for Paill Spectrum hands.
