Case IX

Pregnancy can affect the progress of Paill Spectrum and vice versa. This woman develops a problem with irritability after the birth of her baby. Other symptoms may also be seen in some women and in the babies as well. In theory, Paill Spectrum can cause serious events in the newborn. (In theory).

A discussion of the things women think are normally due to pregnancy. Perhaps there is a Paill Spectrum perspective as well, a scenario being played out over the ensuiing decades.

Pregnancy & Paill Spectrum

Gave birth to third child (5th Pregnancy) approximately 7 months prior

The pregnancy and birth were uneventful. Child and mother doing very well.

Requesting treatment with antidepressant medication.

Had last been taking these medications about three years ago, and has not needed them at all since.

Complains that lately she has been:
Crying herself to sleep
(Sleeping 9 ½ hours per night)
Appetite is reduced a little though she says her weight is stable
Libido is reduced
Energy levels are very very reduced.

Fearful that her relationship of many years is over: arguing with her husband a lot and trying to convince him to stop all drug use. She had previous been a drug user herself before she had children.

They are arguing about lots of issues and problems

Complains now that she has no energy
She tells the doctor that eve walking up the street leaves her completely exhausted.
There is occasional dizziness

Her husband has told her that he feels she has selective memory e.g. She had rung her husband and told him to pick up some milk on the way home. Then 20 minutes later had rung him again and had told him the same thing again. She could not remember ringing him then first time.

She confirms that her family especially her children would agree that she has a bad temper and often takes her temper out on her family.

On examination:

Hands very sweaty Case 9 Link Layer 4b
Both elbows are sore
One sore spot found in parasternal area of the chest (next to the breast bone).
One sore spot found in the lower right abdomen
Her pubic bone is sore to pressure.
Though she complains of knee aches at times, these are not sore today.

Treatment

Multivitamin
Zinc 22 mg elemental daily
Omega 3 oil and Omega 6 oil tablets.

2 weeks Later: Back to top

Complains of sharp chest pains, lasting only 2-3 minutes
Still has parasternal chest wall tenderness
Still has sweaty hands.
Comments on her Weight Gain

This CD is predominately intended as an adjunct to the
"Closing the Circle: The PaillSpectrum Story" CD, but is a standalone book in its own right. Order CD !
The CD allows people to assess Paill Spectrum symptoms to a "medical" level. That is it allows people to decide when a symptom is a PaillSpectrum symptom and when it is not.
